Author Guidelines

The Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology has been published quarterly since 2000. It comprises original contributions, dealing with a wide range of topics related to telecommunications and information technology. All papers are peer-reviewed. The articles presented in JTIT focus primarily on experimental research results advancing scientific and technological knowledge about telecommunications and information technology.

JTIT is dedicated to publishing research results advancing the current level of knowledge or adding to the understanding of problems concerning modulation, signal design, wireless communications, optical communications, photonic systems, voice communications devices, image and signal processing, transmission systems, network architecture, coding and communication theories, as well as broadly understood information technology.

We encourage submissions from a diverse range of authors spanning various backgrounds and geographies.

Manuscript
Latex files are preferred and the Editorial Office provides access to specific style templates that should be used while working on the submission and the supporting documentation. We also accept Microsoft Word and PDF files.

The full and anonymous (blind) PDF version of the paper intended for blind review should be submitted using this link: submit the paper.

No Word template is available. Please work on your article relying on previously published pieces.

A typical article is 10 pages long (approximately 6,000 words) and must include the following elements:

  • Authors' names and affiliations in the following format:
    Name and surname, academic title
    Position held
    ORCID number
    E-mail address (University domain)
    Name of faculty and University
    Link to University website
  • Abstract (150-200 words). The abstract should state the problem, the assumptions made and the methodology adopted. It should also outline the results and draw conclusions on or discuss the importance of the results. Abstracts must not include mathematical expressions or bibliographic references.
  • Keywords related to the wording of the article. Approximately four keywords or phrases in alphabetical order should be used, separated by commas.
  • The body of the article, structured as follows: introduction, related work, research conducted, conclusions, references.

Figures, Tables and Photographs
Together with the article, the authors should submit graphical files, with the highest resolution available (150 dpi or more). Bitmap (jpg, png) and vector (cdr, svg, ps, pdf) formats are welcomed.

References
We use four main citation styles: for a journal article, for an Internet article, for a conference paper, and for a book. Below are examples of the citations we use. In each item, the DOI number or a link to the PDF file with the cited article should be provided.

Review Process
The article is initially approved by the Editor-In-Chief and once accepted, it is then sent to the reviewers. Depending on the topic the article deals with, the process takes to few months to complete. In the next step, the reviews are presented to the authors who have 2 weeks to correct the article. Finally, the corrected text can be re-submitted to the reviewer for reevaluation – a process which will take 2 more weeks.

Thereafter, we are able to send the text for publication in the upcoming issue of the Journal.
When the reviews are inconsistent, additional corrections are necessary, or the reviewer requires an additional verification stage because the corrections introduced by the author are insufficient or additional problems arise, the review of the article may be extended by another month or more.

Editorial Work
Positively reviewed and corrected articles are then prepared, by the editorial office, for publication. Upon completion of this process, the author receives an edited version for approval.
